1. Measure your chest

With good posture, wrap a measuring tape under your arms around your back and take the measurement at fullest part of your chest. Be sure to keep the measuring tape parallel to the floor.

2. Measure your waist

Our waist can be a difficult area to measure! The natural waistline is halfway between the lowest rib you can feel and the top, outside edge of the hip bone. One trick might help you find this spot are to stand up straight and tilt over. Where your torso creases is where your waistline is.

The bracelet version, and it changes the character of the watch entirely. On leather this dial reads vintage; on a beaded steel bracelet it reads like something that has been in service for decades. Case and Wrist Presence Polished stainless steel, round, with a slim bezel and lugs that sweep down and outward to meet the bracelet end links. Two cylindrical pushers flank a fluted crown on the right flank, standing proud enough to find without looking. The case sides are smooth and the profile is low, so the watch slides under a cuff rather than catching on it. Dial and Legibility Matte black with applied polished markers – a broad triangle at twelve, tapered batons around the rest – and long faceted hands. MOVADO sits above centre with calendoplan in italic beneath. The two chronograph registers are white: sixty minutes at three, thirty at six, both printed in black. Against a black dial those white discs are the first thing you see, which is exactly what you want on a timing watch. The weekday arc runs across the left of the dial with a fine pointer over it, and a framed date window sits at four thirty. Movement and Functions Top pusher starts and stops, bottom pusher resets. The central sweep hand times seconds and the sub-registers hold the minutes. The day pointer walks its arc through the week and the date is set from the crown. Every function is on a separate part of the dial, so nothing is read twice. Bracelet and Fit A fine multi-link bracelet with small rounded links across its width, the sort that drapes over the wrist rather than sitting on it in flat plates. It is more flexible than a three-link bracelet and noticeably more comfortable on a smaller wrist. Sizing is done by removing links. Because the individual links are small, the adjustment steps are small too, which makes getting an exact fit far easier than on a chunky bracelet. Who This Watch Suits Someone who wants one chronograph that does not need a strap change between the office and a Saturday. Steel on steel with a black dial is about as broadly usable as the category gets. Care and Maintenance Do not use the pushers while the watch is wet. Rinse the bracelet occasionally and dry it fully, because soap residue collects between small links faster than it does between big ones. Polished steel takes hairline marks – use a soft cloth, never a compound. Have the battery replaced by a watchmaker who will reseat the case gasket. About the Brand Movado named the Calendoplan for its calendar display, and the weekday arc is what the design turns on: the whole week is on the dial at once, with a pointer to say where you are in it.
