Daniel Wellington Classic Bayswater DW00100281: Black Dial and Blue Fabric
The DW00100281 is a 36 mm Daniel Wellington quartz watch that pairs a black dial with a blue fabric strap. It belongs to the Classic Bayswater line and shares its slim, 6 mm case with the other 36 mm references in the family, but the dark face gives it a more serious tone than the white-dial versions. It shows hours, minutes and seconds and has no extra complications.
Using our house sizing rule, a case of 36 mm or less is listed as women’s. The proportions suit anyone who prefers a compact, flat watch.
Case and Dimensions
The round case is stainless steel, 36 mm in diameter and about 6 mm thick. A mineral crystal covers the dial. The flat profile is the defining feature: the watch does not stand proud of the wrist, so it works under sleeves and does not knock against desks or door frames as a taller case would.
- 36 mm diameter – compact without looking small
- 6 mm thickness – slim enough for shirt cuffs
- Mineral crystal – scratch-tolerant hardened glass
- Stainless steel case – hard-wearing for daily use
Black Dial, Simple Layout
The dial is black, and the layout is deliberately minimal: hands for hours, minutes and seconds, and hour markers around the edge. There is no date window and no sub-dial. A black background keeps the face calm and makes lighter hands and markers stand out sharply, which helps legibility in daylight. Next to the blue strap it gives a dark navy-and-black combination that is easy to dress up or down.
The sources we found describe the dial as black but do not describe the finish, so we have not claimed a sunray or matte texture.
Quartz Movement
The watch runs on a battery-powered quartz movement. It needs no winding, holds its time accurately and asks for nothing beyond a battery change every few years. That makes it a dependable choice for people who want to put a watch on and not think about it.
Blue Fabric Strap
The strap is blue fabric with a strap buckle closure. Fabric is lighter and softer than leather, and it adapts to the wrist quickly. It is also easy to change: if you would like a different colour or material later, any strap of the correct lug width will fit. We did not find the strap width confirmed for this exact reference, so measure the lug gap before ordering a replacement.
Water Resistance
A 3 ATM rating equals 30 metres. It covers splashes, rain and hand washing. Do not swim, bathe or shower with it, and dry the fabric strap if it gets wet so it does not hold moisture against your skin.
Who Should Consider It
- Wearers who like dark dials – a black face reads as formal even on a casual strap
- People with smaller wrists – 36 mm and 6 mm keep the proportions tidy
- Office and weekend use – the fabric strap is relaxed, the black dial is neat
- Buyers wanting low upkeep – quartz, no date to reset
Care
Wipe the case and crystal with a soft dry cloth. Hand-wash the fabric strap with mild soap if it becomes grubby and let it dry naturally. Keep the watch away from heat, solvents and strong fragrance. Battery changes are best done by a watchmaker who will check the seals.
