One colour, used once. The bezel ring is a hot red and everything else on this watch is black: case, dial, markers, strap. That single ring does all the work, and it is the difference between a blacked-out watch that disappears and one you notice from across a room. Case and Wrist Presence A 45mm round case in black, with a flat bezel carrying the 24-hour numerals in white and four studs set into the red ring. Crown guards and a pair of pushers on the right give it bulk on that side. Black cases hide their own edges, so the watch photographs larger than it wears, but 45mm is still 45mm: aim for a wrist of 18cm or more. Dial and Legibility Matte black with applied silver batons, each split with a white segment so they catch light. It shrugs off water, wipes clean, and it will not go hard and cracked the way an inexpensive leather strap does after a season of heat. Who This Watch Suits Someone who wants an all-black watch with one deliberate flash of colour. It works with denim and a T-shirt, and it will not look overdressed at a braai or underdressed at a Friday office. Care and Maintenance Wipe the case with a soft dry cloth only; the black finish is a plated surface and abrasives will wear it. Rinse the strap after sweat or salt water. Do not use the pushers underwater, and get a flat battery replaced rather than leaving it in the case. About the Brand Tommy Hilfiger uses the flag’s red, white and blue as accents rather than as a scheme. Here only the red survives, and it is given a whole bezel to itself.
