Everything else has been taken away deliberately. Case and Wrist Presence The case is round and shallow, with a wide flat top ring in a matte grey that sits proud of the dial like a picture frame. Below it the case flank and the lugs are polished steel, and the crown is a small fluted button on the right. The frame effect makes the dial opening look smaller than the watch is, so it wears more discreetly than the diameter suggests. Dial and Legibility Silver with a fine sunray brush that runs out from the centre, so the face brightens and dims as the wrist turns. A thin rose gold ring traces the outer edge of the dial. The word MOVADO is printed small at the foot. Reading the time here is a matter of hand position against the dot rather than against markers, which sounds impractical and is not: the eye judges angle faster than it reads numbers. Because the links are wide, each one you take out makes a noticeable jump, so ask for the half-link if the fit falls between two sizes.
