1. Measure your chest

With good posture, wrap a measuring tape under your arms around your back and take the measurement at fullest part of your chest. Be sure to keep the measuring tape parallel to the floor.

2. Measure your waist

Our waist can be a difficult area to measure! The natural waistline is halfway between the lowest rib you can feel and the top, outside edge of the hip bone. One trick might help you find this spot are to stand up straight and tilt over. Where your torso creases is where your waistline is.

SERIES 800 is printed in red under the Movado dot, and the watch behind that line is the brand’s sports chronograph rather than one of its flat museum dials. Blue face, brushed steel case, a bezel cut with a full minute scale, and three counters arranged around the centre. Case and Wrist Presence The case is broad and slab-sided, with a wide flat bezel ring that carries engraved numerals from 5 through 60. Two rectangular pushers flank a screw-style crown on the right flank. There is no polish to speak of on the top surfaces, so the watch throws very little light back at you; what you notice instead is the sheer diameter of the dial opening. Dial and Legibility A deep blue that stays even across the face rather than fanning out in a sunray. Applied silver batons mark the hours, cut long and fat enough to read at a glance, and the Movado dot sits at twelve where the numeral would be. The hour and minute hands are broad silver blades. Three counters break up the dial: one on the left, one on the right, and one at six, each with its own printed scale and a slim needle. SWISS MADE runs along the foot of the dial. Movement and Functions Quartz, so the time holds without winding and the chronograph starts instantly on the top pusher. The registers total elapsed minutes and hours while the centre sweep hand counts seconds; the bottom pusher resets all three to zero. The date shows through a window on the lower right of the dial. The engraved bezel is a second, cruder timer: line the marker up with the minute hand and read elapsed minutes straight off the ring without touching a pusher. Bracelet and Fit A three-row steel bracelet with brushed outer rows and a polished centre, tapering slightly towards the clasp. It is sized by removing links, and on a watch this heavy that is worth getting right in a shop rather than at the kitchen table: a chronograph that slides round the wrist puts the pushers where your hand cannot reach them. Who This Watch Suits Someone who wants Movado’s design language without the minimalism, or who needs a stopwatch on the wrist and would rather it looked like a dress watch than a tool. The blue dial keeps it presentable under a cuff. Care and Maintenance Rinse the bracelet in warm water now and then and dry it fully, especially around the clasp where skin oils collect. Never operate the chronograph pushers while the watch is wet. Have a watchmaker fit the battery and reseat the case gasket rather than levering the back yourself. About the Brand Movado is a Swiss house best known for the single dot at twelve, drawn from its Museum dial of 1947. Series 800 is where that identity meets a sports case: heavier, thicker, and built around a functional bezel. It ships new and unworn in its original box with the manufacturer’s paperwork, travels on a tracked nationwide courier, and the Consumer Protection Act gives you the right to return an unworn watch in its original packaging.
